Liberation: Being the Adventures of the Slick Six After the Collapse of the United States of America by Brian Francis Slattery

SF author Brian Francis Slattery told SCI FI Wire that his latest novel–Liberation: Being the Adventures of the Slick Six After the Collapse of the United States of America–was written before the current economic crisis, but that events have caught up with it.

“At one point, I worked on what seemed like a string of publications calmly describing the many ways in which the U.S. economy could suffer a serious downturn–what could cause it, how quickly it might happen, how far it might go,” Slattery said in an interview. “From there I kind of just followed the bouncing ball. I didn’t realize when I started the book that it would end up being about slavery and coming to terms with the past, but that’s how it turned out.”
