Twisted Metal by Tony Ballantyne – Review
Twisted Metal by Tony Ballantyne
No TagI’ve never read anything like this before. Ballantyne has created a world where robots evolved, at least that’s what most of them believe, some of them believe in the Book of Robots and that they were created.
Producing parallels to a number of human issues and societies this book non the less never loses its sense of otherness. The robots consider themselves people, they give birth through twisting metal minds and fitting them into tiny bodies. As the minds gain greater lifeforce they can build themselves bigger bodies, giving rise to children, then eventually adults.

Your novel needs a setting. The setting must be strong and suitable for your story. However, it must not overwhelm the story. Sprinkle it in as you go. Do not write travelogues.
Science Fiction Book Review – Themes From Asimov’s Robot Series
about 4 months ago - No comments
I recently read “I, Robot,” a collection of short stories written by Isaac Asimov in 1950′s. The movie that came out a few years ago with the same title was loosely based upon some of the themes from the stories, but did not follow any particular plot in the stories. While I did enjoy the movie, it failed, in my opinion, to capture the depth of the original writing and and themes Asimov was trying to communicate. If you don’t want me to spoil it for you, stop reading now.
Finding Great Science Fiction Books

So many books are published each week that is often hard to decide which books to read. If you are like me, I read about 500 books a year (yes I said 500). You may already have a number of authors that you follow and they may or may not put out enough material for you to keep up with. I follow about 43 authors and they cannot keep up with me.

The New Dead: A Zombie Anthology Edited by Christopher Golden In his foreword to this anthology (titled ‘The New Dead’ if you’re in the US), Christopher Golden asks his reader what the big deal about zombies is these days. The Desert Spear by Peter V. Brett In The Warded Man, Brett had introduced a world in which demons rise from the ground each night, slaughtering anyone they can catch.
