If you are writing for the first time pick a true story rather than something fictional. This way, the story is controlled and you have a clear picture where it is headed. Next is to make a draft of the entire novel on your computer or on index cards. This should be arranged according from the starting scenes, middle and the conclusion. These parts can further be broken down into smaller scenes for an easy time when revising.
Once you have this, go ahead and discard the unwanted scenes while keeping those that are needed. Then you can start your novel writing one chapter at a time. It is good to have a daily schedule of how much content you intend on writing and when you should be done. This will keep you focused and committed to the writing. When done with writing, have someone edit the book for you because if you do it yourself there are some errors you may not see. Once it is edited, you are ready to have it published and distributed for sale. This tutorial is a great guide for anyone who wants to learn how to write a novel in an easy way.
